In both the design and finish of the ring, a lot of attention is paid to the wearing comfort. Whenever possible, each ring has a so-called Comfort Fit. This means that the ring needs a special curve on the inside allowing it to be pleasant to wear and easily removed and put back on. This comfort fit, however, is not possible for each model. Experience personally how this wearing comfort feels and try on our rings at a recognised dealer or jeweller. This is important, for you will be wearing the VdB&VR ring daily, for the rest of your life.

Platinum is a natural and exceptionally prestigious precious metal.

Do you like a silver white colour? Do you prefer precious metals? If you are not willing to have your rhodium-plated white gold ring polished every year so that it stays beautifully white, then you may want to consider choosing platinum. A platinum ring allows you to wear a ring of the purest material. Platinum is more prestigious and difficult to work with compared to gold. For this reason, we advise you to ask your jeweller whether your chosen ring can also be made in platinum. All rings of the ‘Traditions’ collection can be made in platinum.

It has a silver white colour. Platinum rings keep their same colour forever.

As platinum has a higher density than gold, platinum rings feel heavier than the same rings in gold. These rings are more scratch-resistant than gold ones. Platinum jewellery can easily be repolished to look like new. Please visit your jeweller. Platinum does not oxidize.

Platinum is nearly always used and worked with in its purest form. More precisely, in a 95% (Pt950) alloy. This metal is much more labour intensive and difficult to work with than gold.

Platinum keeps its value. The price of platinum is subject to the fluctuation of international exchange rates and precious metals. For this reason, the selling price can differ from day to day.

Palladium belongs to the group of platinum precious metals. This metal is used in alloys and also to turn yellow gold white.

Its greyish colour radiates discretion and something unusual. Palladium is a nice alternative to 18ct white gold. We combine Pd500 with natural white gold to create an unusual style.

In its purest form, palladium has a soft silver white colour. Palladium rings (Pd500) have a greyish white colour.

With regard to scratch resistance, palladium rings (Pd500) are very similar to 18ct gold. The big advantage is that the colour of palladium rings always remains the same and that the material does not oxidize.

It is used in our rings in a 50% alloy (Pd500). We do not use the 95% (Pd950) alloy as a standard because the pure material is very difficult to work with.

Wedding and partner rings in stainless steel combined with gold and diamonds are sober, sturdy, lasting and affordable.

All our rings are made from 430F steel as this is nickel-free. As a result, the chance of allergic reactions is very limited. This 430F type of steel is magnetic, but is not a magnet itself. We use 316L steel for those models in which we combine steel and gold. This type of steel contains nickel and chrome: it is not magnetic and is not a magnet itself.

The stainless steel ring is virtually scratch resistant and does not oxidise. The types of steel we use are of high quality and do not react if they come into contact with chlorine or if you go for a swim.

We always talk about black steel. This is a different kind of steel than the common stainless steel and it belongs to the titanium group metals.

Relationship rings in Black Steel are very special. They look rugged and express a certain lifestyle. In combination with an amazing diamond you will be wearing a technological masterpiece on your finger.

This material has a dark grey colour. Rings become rich black through the hard layer formed by a certain step within the manufacturing process. If you were to cut the ring in half, then the middle part would still remain dark grey. For that reason the engravings are grey and not black.

Polished black steel is extremely scratch-resistant. The matt finish is more sensitive. In addition, it is interesting to know that it is absolutely impossible to change something to your black steel ring once it has been finished.

It is an extremely strong and light metal belonging to the titanium group metals.

Titanium rings are very comfortable as they are both strong and light. The material is known not to irritate the body. In our collections you can find 100% titanium models, but also models combined with gold or brilliants. For young lovers or couples searching for an affordable alternative to gold, this is definitely an interesting find. People performing heavy manual work also appreciate titanium rings a lot.

Rings have a dark grey colour. We manufacture rings in a matt or shiny finish, resulting in a different hue. The shiny ring has a silvery look. The matt one looks darker.

Titanium steel does not keep its purchase value.

As a metal, it is very popular and easy to work with. It belongs to the copper group.

In ancient times silver was used as a means of payment and to apply decorations. Silver was linked to the gods, the moon and the sea. For young lovers or couples searching for an affordable quality ring.

Silver (Ag925) has a beautiful white shine. High-quality silver (Ag935) even looks a bit whiter.

Silver is a very soft material and it is subject to wear. Signs of wearing it such as scratches are inevitable. Silver jewellery can easily be repolished to look like new. Please visit your jeweller. Untreated silver oxidizes and becomes black and matt. Our silver rings (Ag925) receive a rhodium layer to counteract oxidation. This rhodium layer will fade through wear, but can be reapplied. Rings made out of the purer, high-quality silver (AMICI-box) are not rhodinized as they remain beautiful for a longer period of time. Depending on the type of skin and surrounding factors, rings can have a effect on the skin or their shine can change.

The most common alloy is a composition of 92,5% silver and 7,5% copper, or another metal (Ag925). For our AMICI box collection we use the Ag935 (93,5% silver) alloy, as such we talk about high-quality silver in its purest form.

Delivering perfect quality is part of our company culture and as such, each ring is tailor-made. A certificate of authenticity guaranteeing quality and originality is delivered for each ring specifically. Each certificate has to be dated and signed by the jeweller.

A free theft insurance is offered during a 3-year period for a gold (18ct,14ct), platinum or palladium ring from one of the collections of VdB&VR (Mémoire, AURODESIGN, Tessina, Traditions, f'OrU and Pre Wedding Ringcollection).

No, not every ring can be engraved. Most of our rings, however, are completely or partially engravable. Deciding whether or not to drill through a ring for the setting of brilliants will determine possible engraving.

Gold is a valuable precious metal with a high density. As it is really soft, however, it shares your life. Signs of wearing the ring such as scratches are inevitable. Gold jewellery can easily be repolished to look like new. Please visit your jeweller.

Your ring will lose its shine through wearing. That is a natural process. Depending on the finish of your ring (polished, satin, hammered, patina and longitudinal satin), it will shine more, less or not at all. Polished rings have the most beautiful and the brightest shine. We advise you to have your ring polished twice a year by your jeweller to keep its maximum shine. Or to have the original finish looking like new. Is there a special occasion or are you going to a party? Then it is certainly worthwhile having your ring polished! For showing off your magnificent ring will surely make you feel happy!

This process is inevitable. To make champagne coloured (natural white) gold really white, electrolysis is used to apply a rhodium layer around. Wearing the ring erodes this layer, allowing the original champagne colour to reappear. You can always have the rhodium layer reapplied.

Silver is a very soft material and shares your life. Signs of wearing the ring such as scratches are inevitable. Silver jewellery can easily be repolished to look like new. Please visit your jeweller. Untreated silver oxidizes and becomes black and matt. Our silver rings (Ag925) receive a rhodium layer to counteract oxidation (becoming black).
